Statement of the Problem

The general problem of the study is: How does distance learning affect the English language

learning of senior high school students studying in the municipality of Sta. Ana, Pampanga?

Specifically, the study sought answers to the following questions:

1. How may the profile of the senior high school students studying in Sta. Ana, Pampanga

be describe in terms of:

1.1 age;

1.2 sex;

1.3 grade level; and

1.4 course/strand?

2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning to the learners in terms

of:

2.1 internet access;

2.2 technology and gadgets;

2.3 household responsibilities;

2.4 self-paced learning;

2.5 access to the instructor; and

2.6 mental health?

3. How effective distance learning in terms of:

3.1 English language learning; and

3.2 developing students’ communication skills?

4. What are the skills the students already have before the imposition of distance learning?

5. What are the skills added in their language communication in distance learning?
