Accessories comprise those items of dress that are worn in addition to a basic body
covering garment such as dresses or suits. In some cases, they complement the basic
garment and create an overall may be purely practical. They wore on the head, the hands,
the feet, or other parts of the body; they may be carried; or they may be attached to other
garments.

Accessories are made from a wide variety of materials. Often several different materials
may be combined. Not only are accessories constructed from textiles, leather, straw,
plastic, or other components but embroidery, feathers and other decorative elements may
also ornament their surfaces. Some accessories are held together by sewing stitches.

Fashion Accessories:
Fashion accessories are decorative items that supplement and complement clothes, such as
jewelry, gloves, handbag, hats, belts, scarves, watches, sunglasses, pins, bow ties, leg
warmers, leggings, neckties, suspenders, and tights. Accessories can add color, style, and
class to an outfit, and create a certain look, but they can also have a practical function:
handbags can be used to carry small items such as cash; hats protect the face in bad weather
and gloves keeps hands warm.
Many accessories are produced by clothing design companies. However, there has been an
increase in individuals creating their own brand name by designing and making their own
label of accessories.
Accessories can be visual symbol of religious affiliation: Jewish stars, Islamic hand
scarves, turbans are common example. Designer labels on accessories are perceived by
some as an indicator of status. Over the centuries fashion accessories have changed and

also considered fashionable.

Fashion accessory is mainly divided into two categories:

1. Worn accessories
As name indicates worn accessory is used by wearing. There various types of
worn accessory. i.e.

Watches:
In the case of watch selecting you give preference of taking such watch which nicely
adjusts with your wrist. It’s not so important how nice the watch is, but which one is
looking more beautiful after worn by you it is the important point.

Gloves protect and comfort hand against cold or heat or damage by friction, abrasion or
chemicals and disease also. For fashion concerning person gloves is very important.

A glove (Middle English from Old English glof) is a garment covering the hand. Gloves
have separate sheaths(case) or opening for each finger and thumb; if there is an opening
but no covering sheath for each finger they are called “fingerless gloves”. Fingerless gloves
with one large opening rather than individual openings for each finger are sometimes called
gauntlets. Gloves which cover the entire hand but do not have separate finger openings or
sheaths are called mittens.

Gloves protect and comfort hands against cold or heat, damage by friction, chemicals, and
disease; or in turn to provide a guard for what a bare hand should not touch. Gloves are
made of materials including cloth, knitted, or felted wool, leather, rubber and metal. Gloves
protect the wearer from cuts.

Ties:

Hats:

A hat is a head covering. It may be worn for protection against the elements, for ceremonial
or religious reasons, for safety, or as a fashion accessory. In the past hats were indicators
of status. In the military, they may denote (indicate) rank and regiment.When you are going

Jewelry can be of different types. I.e. Earrings, Nose pin, Chain, Necklace, and Bracelet
etc. Be smart about selecting jewelry with your outfit. If you are wearing larger earrings
than wear thin chain, and if you are wearing big necklace than just wear small tops or don’t
wear any earrings.

Belt:

A belt is a flexible band, typically made of leather or heavy cloth, and worn around the
waist. A belt supports trousers or other articles of clothing.

Footwear:

Footwear, includes shoes, sandals and boots, is the largest category of accessories. More
than eight billion pairs of shoes are produced worldwide each year. Both functional and
fashionable shoes come in associated materials including Leather, plastic, rubber, textiles,
wood, jute, metal etc.

Today show industry arranges their business by consumer demand and design development
idea, comfort has become an important element of shoe design.

Shoes:

There somebody tells that your worn shoes expresses out personality or taste level. So, be
careful about shoes selecting. Don’t always use high heel shoes. It may be harmful for your

A sock is an item which is worn on the feet. It helps to absorb the sweat and draw it to

fashionably designed, typically used by women and used to hold personal items such as
wallet/ coins, keys, gloves, cosmetics, a hairbrush, mobile phone or personal digital
assistant etc. A handbag must be both decorative and functional; its must hold necessities
conveniently as well as fit into the fashion picture.
