Dear Forrest City High School Administrative,

First, As a scholar at Forrest City High School would like to say in advance, I am writing
this letter to address the dress code here in our school. The dress code is one of the main issues
as a scholar at Forrest City High School Year talked about. These concerns come from both the
scholars and the educational leaders. Many of the students see it as unfair, especially the girls. It
has come to my attention that this dress code caused some commotion when it was announced. It
seems like every year there is more added on. This letter is just for the administration of Forrest
City High School to hear us out.

Next, As a scholar at Forrest City High School believes that students should be cautious
of what they wear. This doesn't mean stop dressing up as a whole however, think about how it
would make others feel. Some cases It is necessary although, the majority of the time it isn’t.
Students aren’t the only ones who fail to meet the dress code requirements, educational leaders
just as much. As a scholar at Forrest City High School, don't think students should dress any way
they want, but instead dress to some extent. For example a crop top, showing knees, or
shoulders shouldn’t be deemed inappropriate. Meanwhile you see guys who show their
shoulders and knees all the time without any penalties. As a scholar at Forrest City High School
believes the dress code shouldn’t be as harsh as it is on females compared to males.

Furthermore, As a scholar at Forrest City High School most definitely feel like the dress
code is more targeted towards the girls than boys. My complaints come from my perspective as a
student at Forrest City School District. It seems as if the girls are more observed than the guys.
Down the halls you see guys sag all the time without any consequence whatsoever. And the one
time they actually get in trouble it's not that much compared to the girls . Girls get sent home &
forced to dress appropriately meanwhile the guys get laid off. I've also seen some girls wear
clothes out of dress code without any issues just because of their body shape. If you're going to
inflict a dress code, stick by it regardless of the person.

In conclusion, As a scholar at Forrest City High I want to change the consequences as

previously mentioned before. It shouldn't be that serious if a girl shows her stomach, what's the
harm of that? Cleavage or tights As a scholar at Forrest City High Schoolunderstand, however,
certain things like shoulders aren't that serious. Meanwhile you have guys with their behind
hanging out walking campus any type of way. As a student at Forrest City High School, I want
everybody at the school to be treated fairly, regardless if they're a male, female, student or staff
member. School is a professional setting, we should dress like it.

Sincerely,

Jada Sloan
