GEISLINGER COUPLINGS R994B AND R996

Background:

With our supplier, we have recently stripped down some R994B defective couplings that were sent back to LFR.
All of them were found either dry or with insufficient oil quantity.
None of them were showing any external leaks.

After pressurizing the quick couplings that are used to replace / refill the oil, it appeared that all these couplings
were showing a leak.
With the centrifugal force, the oil will drip out and will be sprayed into the splitter box housing. As the oil change
interval is 1000 hours, the coupling has fair chance to run empty.

It has been decided to replace the quick couplings with plugs.

Following parts are required:

2 x 7362091 fitting XGE 10 LR ED ¼ ‘’

2 x 4774001 nut 10L
2 x 4900038 plug VKA10

We ask you to carry out this modification during a regular maintenance.

We would like to take opportunity of this service bulletin to remind you that a special tool P/N 9943251 has been
designed for this purpose. See drawing attached.

This tool includes a safety valve to prevent any excessive pressure when replacing the oil.
