INTRODUCTION

In our everyday life we are using laundry detergent and bleaching agent for our clothes. There are natural ways to
remove stain like using Averrhoa bilimbi or known as kamias that can found on your neighborhood or on people's
backyard. Kamias is like calamansi it is acidic and possible to be a bleaching agent to remove stain. Kamias contain high
oxalic acid used to remove stains from clothes, to remove rust from metal blades, etc. Kamias is cheap, eco-friendly,
organic and easy to find. Oxalic acid is an organic acid with the formula HO2CCO2H and IUPAC name ethanoic acid. It is
the most basic of the dicarboxylic acids. It’s a white crystalline solid that dissolves in water to generate a colorless
solution. Many vegetables and plants contain this chemical molecule.

There are different textile products like cotton, silk, denim, etc. and it can get common stain like ink, paint, chocolate,
soy sauce and ketchup to get rid of that we need laundry detergent and bleaching agent.

This study will only focus on the effectiveness of oxalic acid of kamias as bleaching agent in different textile products and
only on common stains. Only limited fabrics will be used in this study like cotton, silk, polyester and denim.

This study will determine the strength of oxalic acid from kamias on different textile products. This study also avoid
dangers to human for using synthetic bleach.

Therefore, this study aims to know the strengths of oxalic acid extract of kamias if it can be used in different textile
products.

METHODS

Pr The materials needed are 20-30 kamias, 3ml soy sauce, 3ml chocolate, 3ml paint, 3pcs of white cotton fabric, 3pcs
ep of denim fabric, 3pcs of silk fabric, 3 containers, syringe , squeezer, water, and basin
