Things You Should Know:

1. Grades & Gradebook
○ By the end of this week, you should have at least 9 grades in the gradebook.
○ Please make sure the proper communication is happening with your students who are failing
○ Please see the end of the Q2 grader instructions here
○ High school courses shall have a minimum of 9 separate assignments or assessments, an average of one grade per
week, for course content, skills, and mastery in addition to homework but they may not exceed 15 total
assignments.
○ Assignments shall have a due date.
○ Assignments that are not submitted shall receive a grade of zero.
○ Assignments that are submitted within 1 week of the due date shall be counted as being submitted on time.
○ Assignments that are submitted more than 1 week after the due date shall receive a grade of at least 50%

2. Putting absences into system in a timely manner

○ Please make sure you are putting in your absence in a timely manner. We understand things happen at the last
minute and we can deal with those from time to time, but there has been an influx of last minute callouts.
○ If you put a job in the system and are able to come to work, it's a lot easier to cancel the job and let people know
they won't have to cover, then it is to find coverage 20 minutes prior to the start of a school day.

3. Community Wellness Reminders

○ Please ensure that the community wellness lessons are being completed during the community wellness times.
○ Lessons can be found here

4. Hall passes
○ Under no circumstances should teachers be sending students out of class with passes the first 15min and the
last 15min of class. There has been an uptick of students in the hallways within those time frames with
legitimate passes in hand. Please adhere to this!

5. Parent Contact
Please continue to contact parents of your students who have not attended class.
After three unsuccessful attempts at contact, please refer students to admin by completing the
following form.
■ For our English Language Learner (ELL) families – please utilize Language Link to help make
contact
■ Call 1-877-737-4999, Account #13370, followed by # sign. View the following for more
information.

6. Celebrating Our Staff & Students on Twitter and the Website

If you have any pictures or videos of the good work, instruction, lessons, etc that are taking place during
collaborative planning & in your classrooms, please email them to me (mzipp@aacps.org) or text them to
410-340-4335. I would love to be able to post daily on our Twitter account all the amazing things you all are doing
for the whole county to see! We are going to write our own story!

7. Positivity Mail
Please write positive postcards this week to recognize those staff and students who are STEPping Up daily. This
could be for a particular act you see that goes above and beyond or for a person you want to recognize for
exhibiting any behaviors that are Studious Thoughtful Empowered and/or Perseverant.

8. Students in Crisis
○ As the semester progresses, we are seeing more students who are in crisis due to the stress of being
overwhelmed due to academic and personal circumstances. Please review the following documents, so that you
know how to best respond to a student in need:
■ Threat Assessment Protocol
■ Self-Harm and Suicidal Behaviors During Remote Learning
○ If you have any questions about the protocols, please contact school counseling and/or administration.

9. Announcements
○ All staff and student announcements should be sent to Ms. Hafer by 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
■ Staff announcements sent on time will be placed in the bulletin for the following week.

10. Taking Daily Attendance/Seating Charts

○ Staff, it is vital that you are taking attendance each period. Please be mindful of this!
○ Please make sure you have updated seating charts for each of your class periods. Please include students first and last
names.
