Nature by numbers
(Short movie inspired on numbers, geometry, and nature)
by Christobal Villa
Nature by numbers

To begin with, nature is breathtakingly beautiful, and therefore, we should appreciate

it for what it is and what it teaches us. Cristobal Vila's Nature by Numbers enlightened my mind to
the reality that mathematics can be found in the most unexpected places, such as nature and the
elements that make it up. Nature by Numbers is a film that explores the connection between
mathematics, art, and nature. You can see how the numbers and patterns come together to
generate a visually pleasing film that persuades viewers, especially me, to watch and learn from it.
It's impressive that the film goes into great detail on the patterns found in nature, because it helps
us appreciate and better understand natural patterns. This short film did an excellent job of
capturing my attention and piqued my curiosity about the topic.

There are many numbers and patterns in nature that you may notice in the
film.Nature is full of patterns that can be linked to mathematics. The dragonfly, for example, is a
symmetry pattern because each side looks exactly like the other, and the eyes are arranged in the
shape of a hexagon, which has a tessellation pattern in its shape. Surprisingly, everything in our
world has a deep connection, even if we don't recognize it. Mathematics plays an important part in
our lives since it improves our analytic, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, which allow us
to solve problems and make decisions in our daily lives. The beauty of nature captured my
attention in this video. It's highly accurate and well-made. This film shows how mathematics,
geometry, and nature work together to create a more unique and creative world for us. It's amazing
how much of our environment is made up of numbers. Everywhere you looked, there were
numbers and formulas involved, giving those things a fantastic image in our minds.

To sum it all up, the film presented a wide range of natural patterns and sequences,
like the shell, sunflower, and dragonfly, which directly relate to our topic, "Patterns and Numbers in
Nature and the World."
