ecosystem is found on landforms, while an aquatic ecosystem is found in a body
of water.

Competency: Describe how the different terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems are
interlinked with one another S11/12LT-IVfg-30

Objectives:
1. Name terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems;
2. Identify terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems;
3. Describe how the different terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems are interlinked with one another;

Procedure / Learning Experience

A. Engage
Name terrestrial and aquatic that you know. Write it inside the box.

B. Explore
Identify the type of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystem. Re-arrange the
letters to get the correct answer.

1. A R M I E N ___________________

2. E D S R E T ___________________

3. E R F T O S ___________________

4. A R S G S D A L N ___________________

5. W R F E S H A R T E ___________________

C. Explain
Forests, deserts, and grasslands are examples of terrestrial ecosystem
while aquatic ecosystems include marine and freshwater ecosystem.
Forests are ecosystems with abundant plants, animals, fungi, and
microorganisms.
Grassland ecosystems are dominated by grasses with few trees and
shrubs.
Desert ecosystems are found in regions that have very minimal amount of
rainfall.
Marine ecosystem is considered as the largest ecosystem.
Freshwater ecosystems include the rivers, ponds, springs and other wet
lands.

D. Elaborate
Using the picture below, draw different organisms and simply show the
connections between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystem. Explain your work
briefly. Refer to example as a guide.
