Description & Scope

Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is planning to undertake the construction of the Gathering Center from 33 to 35 in North Kuwait.
The US$2,400 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of a control building
2. Construction of a metering station
3. Construction of administration building
4. Construction of processing units
5. Construction of access roads
6. Installation of temperature control systems
7. Installation of a safety system

Kuwait gathering centre design to complete by 2021

State-owned upstream operator Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is
expecting front-end engineering and design (feed) work for Kuwait’s
Gathering Centre 34 (GC-34) project to be completed before the end of
2020, according to industry sources.
State-owned upstream operator Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is
preparing to tender gathering centre 34 (GC-34), according to industry
sources.
The project is currently in its early stages and the invitation to bid for the
main contract is expected to be issued in 2020.
GC-34 is expected to be the first of a set of three gathering centres to
be tendered.
GC-33 and GC-35 are expected to be tendered after GC-34.
Three gathering centre contracts were awarded by KOC in July 2018.
These were worth a total of $2.3bn and were known as GC-29, GC-30

and GC-31.
The contracts were won by India’s Dodsal, India’s Larsen & Toubro and
the UK’s Petrofac respectively.
The three gathering centre projects were part of KOC’s long-term
strategy to develop the north Kuwait fields and increase crude
production using water injected into the reservoirs.
The gathering centres were intended to deal with the increased oil and
associated water production.
KOC also awarded a contract for GC-32, which is located at the Bu

are the shortlisted companies on Gathering Centre 34.
10/02/2021 FEED works are still facing delays due to the current situation in the
region.
16/12/2020 FEED works are still facing delays due to the current situation in the
region.
25/09/2020 FEED works are delayed due to the current situation in the region and the
same is expected to be completed by late 2021. The tender for GC-34 is
expected to be issued in 2022 and the same will be issued for GC-33 and
GC-35 post the tender of GC-34.
