Accomplishment Report of SDRRM on the Conduct of 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous

Earthquake Drill 2021

I. INTRODUCTION
Participation to the 2021 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake
Drill Ceremonial Pressing of the button has been reiterated in the DM No. 231,
s.2021.
The conduct of activity aims to ensure the awareness and preparedness on
the impending threat of the inevitable occurrence of an earthquake even amid
pandemic. All Deped Personnel and learners were encouraged to participate
simultaneously and practice “duck, cover and hold” at the set time.
In line with this, Hacienda-Intal National High School joined in the
conduct of the 4th quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2021.

A. NARRATIVE

Earthquake is one of the natural disasters that can cause fatal injuries, damage properties
and death. It is a natural phenomenon caused by the sudden release of energy along the earth’s
crustal plates that can happen anytime and anywhere.
Hacienda- Intal National High School through the leadership of the Secondary School
Principal I, Evelyn M. Agron, conducted the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake
Drill 2021 held on November 11.
 The virtual program started at 8:00 am through facebook livestream at Civil Defense PH
facebook page. The ceremonial pressing of the button happened at exactly 9:00 am. All teachers
participated and learners at home joined in the “Duck, Cover and Hold.”
Due to the limitations in the conduct of mass gatherings and in adherence to the COVID-
19 minimum health protocols, NSED requiring physical interaction particularly evacuation drill
has been temporarily suspended.
Furthermore, the drill intensified the preparedness and awareness of everyone during
earthquake occurrence.
