II.NARRATIVE REPORT/EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In line with the campaign to be safe in this time of COVID-19 pandemic of the National
Disaster Reduction Council empowered by the Department of Education, Bawa, Elementary
School enthusiastically participated the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.
But because of the limitations in the conduct of mass gatherings, BES personnel performed only
the “duck, cover, and hold” procedures on March 10,2022 participated by 10 faculty and Staffs.
It is very essential to be always prepared before, during and after disaster especially in this
time of COVID-19 pandemic. This is the highlight of the DRRMS program. Making everybody
be aware of the exact things that we should consider and expect in facing a disaster.
The “duck, cover, and hold” procedure was held at exactly 8:00 am. The buzzer sound blurted
for one minute and it motivated everyone to be alert and awake.
In summary, the drill was successfully implemented. Praparedness and mitigation are key
strategies in reducing disaster risk.

IV. OTHER INSIGHTS/RECOMMENDATION

This Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) is surely a
great helped to save lives especially when disaster comes. It is a way of
making people prepared on what to do before during and after an
earthquake.
