NARRATIVE REPORT ON EARTHQUAKE DRILL

Dated: November 10, 2022

Earthquakes have long been feared as one of nature's most damaging hazards.
Earthquakes continue to remind us that nature still can strike without warning and, after only a
few seconds, leave casualties and damage in their wake. Bandera Elementary School participates
in every simultaneous drill that the DRRM requiring it.

The drill started at 9:00 o’clock in the morning. It was participated by the children,
teachers, and utility personnel. Due to the existing covid-19, we still strictly follow the proper
health protocols. First, the School Disaster Risk Reduction Management Coordinator, yours
truly, gave some instructions on how to do the drill and how to response on it. Next, it also
includes the proper ways to drop, cover, and hold. Then, giving all the instructions to the
participants. The said drill was executed properly, harmoniously, and successfully. After the
executions, I gave some additional knowledge and importance on how to respond to this kind of
calamity and it was done inside the classroom. All the participants of the drill were happy,
especially the children because after two years of not going to school they are experiencing it
again. Lastly, I remind the children that “To react quickly you must practice often. You may
only have seconds to protect yourself in an earthquake. Practicing helps you be ready to
respond.”
