Description:
1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill
(NSED) Activities
Objectives: The following were the specific objectives of the conduct of the activity:

o To increase catastrophe awareness and preparedness throughout the

country and community.
o To ensure fast and adequate response during an earthquake.
o To prepare for earthquakes, follow the "DUCK, COVER, and HOLD"
technique to minimize injuries and prevent casualties.
Result: The identified objectives and targets for the activity were met:

o Boost disaster awareness and preparedness in the country and in the

community.
o Facilitate timely the appropriate response when the actual earthquake
does occur.
o Perform the “DUCK, COVER and HOLD” procedure as a minimum
requirement on earthquake preparedness to mitigate injuries and avoid
possible casualties.
o All pupils participated in the earthquake drill

At the conclusion of the program, participants will have learned about
earthquakes, how to mitigate their destructive effects, and how to plan
for an effective response during an earthquake.

Participants The School DRRM Coordinator addressed pupils about the earthquake drill. The
Feedback: coordinator showed to the pupils how to duck, cover, and hold. Some students weren't
taking it seriously, particularly in the lower grades, but it finished accurately.

Methodology: The 1 st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill was

scheduled for March 16, 2024 The Nag uma Elementary School teachers fully
participated in the task at hand. The school's SDRRM coordinator led the
exercise well. Nagu-uma Elementary their teacher in charge, and pupils all got
involved with the activity.
