LESSON 1: COURSE OVERVIEW

ACTIVITY 1
Read the LDM Course Overview. Reflect on the overview by answering the following questions. Write down
your insights in your Study Notebook.

1. What is the main delivery of this course?


The Learning Delivery Modalities 2 Course (LDM2) provides self-directed modules that
heighten teachers’ understanding of the different learning modalities. This includes teachers’
outputs and reflections on the activities in each module.
2. How can this course help ensure that you will be able to deliver quality instruction in the “new
normal”?
During this “new normal” setting of teaching, we cannot deny the drastic changes from the
traditional to the digital environment. With these, teachers should consider being the most
flexible, most committed, and most sympathetic at all times. That’s why the Department
develops LDM2 that helps teachers continue education amidst the pandemic.
3. What are the two support mechanisms that will help you with your learning in this course?

In order to accomplish the course, one must possess the inner drive and create motivation.
Participation in Learning Action Cells (LACs) and webinars will be of big help to acquire the
latest and most effective strategies to address the needs of learners in a new normal setting.

participation in this course?

This pandemic brought about big changes in the educational system that requires
urgent response particularly in the field of education. One should be mentally and
emotionally engaged to acquire essential knowledge to foster insights in the course of
study. Educators must develop personal characteristics that will embrace the situation.
Accepting and adapting to the reality of new normal teaching is one of the great ways in
coping with the changes.

2. How can I ensure that I am able to sustain my strengths and address the obstacles that will hinder
me from completing this course?

Through adversity comes growth, strength, and determination. In times like this, one
may be inspired by this meaningful quote. Teachers must stand and find ways to continue
the service of education during this pandemic. In order to complete the course
successfully, one must have a clear vision of what the new normal of education requires
us to be.

LESSON 2
ORGANIZING YOUR LEARNING ACTION CELL (LAC)

ACTIVITY 1
Begin by refreshing your memory on the Learning Action Cell. Read DepEd Order No. 35 s. 2016 titled “The
Learning Action Cell as the K to 12 Basic Education Program School Based Continuing Professional
Development Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning.” Once you’re done, answer the
following questions. Write your responses and any other ideas and reflections in your Study Notebook.

1. Reflect on the objectives for conducting LAC sessions as listed in DO 35, s. 2016.

1. Relevance of the Topics - topics in the LAC sessions should be relevant, timely, and
beneficial to all parties concerned especially in these trying times.

3. Problems with technology, equipment, and experience – some common session


problems are due to bad technology and inexperience.

4. Lack of Computer Knowledge – unfamiliar tools like computers and laptops can be
daunting the first time someone uses them.
