I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, student will be able to:
 Name the instruments for measuring time
 State the metric units of time

something.
There are two methods of measuring time the Olden
Method and the Modern Method
 For the Olden Method we have:
 Sounds of certain animals
 Water clocks
 Candle clocks
 Shadow clocks
 For the Modern Method we have:
 Wall clock
 Wrist watches
 Mobile phone or computer
 Stop watches

Now, let us proceed to telling the time:

 The minute hand is the big hand


 The hour hand is the small hand

Example:

1. The minute hand is on 12 and the hour hand is on 2

So, the time is 2 o’clock

2. The minute hand is on 12 and the hour hand is on 6

So, the time is on 6

3. Minute hand is on 12 and the hour hand is on 8

So, the time is 8 o’clock Yes, teacher


4.Minute hand is on 3 and the hour hand is on 8

So, the time is quarter past 8
