CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTING

1.1 Introduction

Due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, several prevention measures were taken.
A massive lockdown has been implemented by governments in several countries. In
addition, “#StayAtHome" was promoted by the media to prevent the spread of COVID-
19. Researchers are currently developing a vaccine; as yet, there is no effective medicine
that has been invented for the treatment of COVID-19 infections (Paital et al., 2020).

On March 16, 2020, The Philippine government imposed a total lockdown in Luzon,
known as the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), as a preventive measure to
minimize the COVID-19 outbreak. This ECQ is widely known as one of the longest
lockdown in the world. Under the ECQ, all modes of domestic travel, including ground,
air, and sea, were suspended. Residents were not allowed to leave their homes except in
case of emergencies. Border closures and entry bans were also enforced. Thousands of
police officers and military personnel were deployed at checkpoints to ensure that people
complied with the lockdown. The administration also implemented, through several
platforms as preventive measures, strict social distancing (Duddu, 2020, CSIS, 2020).

“There has been an unusual increase in COVID-19 cases in the province of

Pangasinan. The entire province was alarmed and tightened due to the threat of COVID-
19. The resolution also said the public and private hospitals in Pangasinan have reached
their maximum dedicated bed capacity for COVID-19 cases, forcing the consideration of
alternative quarantine facilities such as hotels, lodging facilities, and classrooms. The
Regional Medical Center, the referral hospital for COVID cases, has closed its out-patient
department and converted it into a COVID-19 ward after the original 120 beds for
COVID-19 patients were fully occupied (Fuertes,2021).

COVID-19 spread quickly and entered the town of Anda, a remote area in the
province of Pangasinan. As a result, entry and exit to this town were restricted. The
number of people who can go outside in their house is also limited, 17 years old below
and 60 above are no longer allowed. Only those 18-59 years old are allowed.

Pangasinan. In this study we can find out when the number of COVID-19 cases in Anda,
Pangasinan increased and decreased.

RESEARCH DESIGN AND RESULTS

2.1 Methodology

The design of the research used for this study is Quantitative Research Design
because it produces objective data that can be clearly communicated through statistics
and numbers. Researcher uses quantitative method to observe and examine the COVID-
19 cases in Anda, Pangasinan.

To analyze and to understand our data, I used different graphs to show the data
clearly.

CHAPTER 3

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

3.1 Summary

In the study shows that many cases have been recovered in recent months. Although
the number of active cases is increasing, the number of people recovering from COVID-
19 is also increasing.

From May 1 to August 28, there are not too many COVID-19 cases here in Anda,
Pangasinan. Recent months have always had more recovered cases than new or active
cases. The number of COVID-19 cases rose sharply between the month of September and
October.
3.2 Conclusion

Strict border control, early implementation of lockdowns, establishment of

quarantine facilities, effective communication to the public, and monitoring efforts were
the defining factors that helped these LGUs curtail the harm that was brought by the
pandemic. If these policies are to be standardized, it would help any towns or provinces'
preparedness for future health emergencies.

More attention was paid to restricting people outside the town and as a result, the
number of COVID-19 cases in Anda, Pangasinan dropped immediately. They are one of
the reasons why the virus got here.

The LGUs have made a significant contribution to the decrease in COVID-19 cases
because they have done their duty well to always remind the people of Anda to always be
careful because of the threat of COVID-19.

Keep up the good work and stay strong until COVID-19 disappears completely in
our town, especially in our country. We are now noticing that the number of COVID-19
cases in our country is gradually decreasing, hopefully it will continue.
3.3 Recommendation

Always follow the officials because it is also for our benefit. They are restricting up
so that we can stay away from the threat of COVID-19 and protect our town.

Be a responsible citizen and cooperate always.

We all know that COVID-19 is really deadly so always be careful. COVID-19 is

still a threat so always be aware of its actions.

Don't be afraid to get vaccinated because that will be our weapon in COVID-19
especially when we travel. There is a high possibility that we will be infected anywhere,
so get vaccinated now.
