winner.
A. Presentation of the lesson Problem Opener: (Concept Development)
(Establishing New Lesson) Paul bought 45 marbles and gave 2/3 of the marbles to his brother.
How many marbles did he give to his brother?
a. Who bought some marbles?
b. Who receive a marbles?
c. How many marbles did he receive?
e. What do you think is the process to be used?
f. How will you write the number sentence?
* If you were Paul, would you do the same? Why?
B. Presentation of examples/ instances Paul bought 45 marbles and gave 2/3 of the marbles to his brother.
of new lesson. How many marbles did he give to his brother?
C. Discussion of new concept and You can follow these steps to multiply a fraction by a whole number:
practicing new skills #1  Write the whole number as a fraction with a denominator of
1.
 Multiply the numerators.
 Multiply the denominators.
 Simplify, if needed. If your answer is greater than 1, you may
want to write your answer as a mixed number.

Let's try it with 2/3 and 45

STEP 1: Write the whole number as a fraction with a denominator of

1.

STEP 2: Multiply the numerators.

STEP 3: Multiply the denominators.

STEP 4: Simplify, if needed. If your answer is greater than 1, you

may want to write your answer as a mixed number.

D. Discussion of new concept and Group Activity
