OBJECTIVES: Provide insights into selected key areas of business analytics to enable
student to work and make decicions with data driven business, statistics, and
technology.

EXPECTED 1. Understand the role of business analytics within an organization;


LEARNING 2. Explain the relationship of analytics and business intelligence;
OUTCOME: 3. Explain the relationship of the business analytics process with the
organization decision making process;
4. Manage business processes using analytical and management
tools;
5. Use analytics in customer requirement analysis, general
management, marketing, finance, operations and supply chain
management;
6. Analyse opportunities, problems and solutions for business
objectives.

TASKS: Answer the following questions:

1. What is the difference between Data & Information? Are they


the same thing?
2. Explain what is big data and why it’s very important in the use of
modern day business?
3. Explain the role of information systems in a business!
4. Explain and give example of implementation of customer
relationship management systems !
5. Explain and give example of activities that are consider as
computer criminals!

REQUIREMENTS: soft copy in MS Word file extension to the lecturer.
Word count is min 800 words not including Cover page, Table of
Contents, References, and Appendix.

ASSESSMENT Every answer will be assessed based on the: Relevance of the

WEIGHTAGE: This assignment will constitute 20% of the total assessment for the
module

DUE: All work is to be submitted by Week 9, 3 March 2020 at the


beginning of the class.Student submission of assignments (total
marks reduced by 10 marks if up to 1 day late, total marks reduced
by 20 marks if up to 2 days late, total marks reduced by 30 marks if
up to 3 days late & the assignment shall be given a zero mark if later
than 3 days).  In extenuating circumstances, deadlines could be
extended but the lecturer has to seek permission from the PD/PC or
AD.
