Course Description: In accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act No. 7722 otherwise known as the ‘Higher Education Act of 1994’ and by virtue of
Commission en banc Resolution No. 436-2018 dated August 7, 2018, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) approved the offering of
Indigenous Peoples’ (IP) Studies/Education in the relevant higher education curricula for primary purpose of addressing issues confronting the
country’s Indigenous Peoples’ Communities such as poverty and human rights abuse, as stipulated in Republic Act (RA) 10908 or ‘An Act Mandating
the Integration of Indigenous Peoples History, Culture and Identity in the Study of Ethics/Philippine History in both Basic Higher Education;’ and RA
8371 or the ‘Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997’ which affirms IP rights to ancestral domains, self-governance and empowerment, social
justice, human rights, and rights to cultural identity.
All public and private higher education institutions (HEIs) may offer, integrate or incorporate as topics, contexts, and concepts into higher education
subjects such as history, social sciences, political science, sociology, and humanities/ethics.

Course Outcomes: At the end of the course, the students are expected to be able to:
1. Illustrate knowledge of what ethics and indigenous peoples are and its importance
2. Differentiate moral from non-moral standards
3. Explain the influence of Filipino culture on the way students look at moral experiences and solve moral dilemmas
4. Understand and internalize the principles of ethical behavior in modern society at the level of the person, society, and in interaction with
the environment and other shared resources
5. Explain the main focus of Indigenous Peoples Education
6. Recognize the significance of indigenous communities in the country
7. Appreciate the importance of indigenous culture preservation

Class Policies: Answering the module and submitting it on time will be consider as your ATTENDANCE. Learners are expected to participate in answering the modules or
submit assigned tasks as the case may require it. There will be a short quizzes (Pre-Test and Post-Test) before and after finishing the module. There will be
different activities to be answered on the module every after the lesson. Two major exams (Mid-Term and Finals) will be given to assess what learners have
learned. Observe good manners and right conduct. Honesty is expected at all times. Submit requirements on time. The teacher has the discretion not to accept
late requirements or to deduct points. Observe proper consultation hours. A special quiz/exam/project (or its equivalent) will only be given if the reason for
the absence is valid. An excuse letter duly signed by the parent and/or a medical certificate should be presented to the concerned intructor.
