Pattern Making and Cutting (3 – Months Course)

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

The basic objective of the course is to train women to make garments on modern
line with perfection and economy for domestic purpose as well as industrial /
commercial purpose. To bring awareness in students of modern knowledge and
techniques of Pattern Making and Cutting.

A thorough description in respect of Children garments, ladies garments and


gents garment along with standard sizes along with design of modern dresses are the
main components of the course. This course also creates the awareness in students of
market and industry demands.

SKILL COMPETENCY DETAILS:

After completion of this course student should be able to:

1. Make bodice and skirt draft, pattern and block with latest techniques.

2. Have enough skill in making pattern of different sizes according to body


measurements of ladies and gents.

3. Prepare sleeves, collars and dart shifting according to need and demands of the
market.

4. Have enough skill to join garment industry and open their boutiques.

5. Enhance skills in pattern making and cutting of ladies, gents and children
garments.

6. To work efficiently. The pattern maker must have the proper tools to
communicate effectively in the workroom.

At the completion of the course the trainees should be able to:

1. Know about latest patterns making and cutting techniques.

2. Know about different styles and variations of pattern making.

3. Have knowledge of ladies and gents pattern variations

4. Know about pattern making and work of the industries.

5. Have enough knowledge to join garment industry and can open their own
boutiques and should be able to take order work in bulks.

6. Know about regarding importance of Draft, Pattern and final Block Making
before stitching of dresses.
