1. Identify the characteristic of each images based on their cultural background
Jewelries in our country's various Art Periods have distinct characteristics. Pre-colonial ornaments
based on their culture are more focused on symbolism and patterns, which vary depending on tribe group.
Furthermore, most of the jewels from that time period are rich solid gold jewels with a rough and hammered
texture. Spanish colonial jewelry was most likely used to spread Christianity at the time, with holy images or
symbols embedded in the jewels. In American Period, jewelry is most likely fashionable, with a focus on silver
rather than gold. Japanese jewelry is similar to American jewelry, but it is more artistic and free-form than
American period jewelry, and it incorporates silver and other materials. Contemporary jewelry designs
incorporate unique materials, fantastic colors, and dimension because it was heavily influenced by different
cultures.
2. Based on your observation, which among the jewelry is the most appreciated? Justify your answers.
Based on my observations, jewelry from the Pre-Colonial Period is the most appreciated of them all.
Most ornaments and jewelry from that time period were intricately crafted or built with bare hands. Also, the
delicate curves, shapes, symbols, and patterns in each piece of jewelry piqued my interest. For me, the labor
involved in creating a piece of jewelry is a sufficient reason to appreciate the finished product. Furthermore, I
prefer items that have been created with a great deal of effort.
