1.0 OBJECTIVES : Active Network Installation

5.0 ACTIVITY:
 Receive the Purchase Order (PO) from Sales dept., co-ordinate with the Purchase dept. for
material delivery at client side.
 Assign a Project Engineer for the project.
 Engineer has to contact customer and get all the required installation details (IP Schema,
VLAN details, Hostnames, Usernames/Passwords, Network Diagram, etc.).
 After delivery of goods at customer site, arrange a visit of the Project Engineer at customer
site.
 After reaching the site, Engineer has to cross check the delivered items against the
PO/Delivery Challan (DC) and confirm the delivery of all the goods. Report any observed
discrepancies to the Operations Manager.
 Before beginning installation, the Engineer has to perform POST (Power on Self Test) on all
the possible devices; generate a POST Report including the serial numbers of all the devices.

 Engineer will then configure the devices as per the schematics provided by the customer or
designed by the Project Engineer himself. Devices will be rack mounted or wall mounted as
per the scope of work.
 After successful installation the Engineer should run tests on the configured devices and
confirm the same with the customer. Engineer should then file an installation report and take
a signoff from the customer.
 Before leaving the customer site the Engineer should make sure to have collected all the
configurations from the installed devices, required snapshots for the handover document and
serial numbers of all the installed devices.
 Engineer should then generate the SLA for warranty details.
 Engineer should also prepare the handover document of the project and take signoff from the
customer on the handover document.
