 ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

PURPOSE
The assignment is intended to provide you the opportunity to demonstrate:
Your understanding of counselling process and how these counselling stages must be
experienced and understood by every counsellor.

PART 1: WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT (50%)

REQUIREMENT
Professional counselling is a safe and confidential collaboration between a qualified counsellor
and a client to promote mental health and wellbeing, enhance self-understanding, and resolve
identified concerns or problems. The counsellor and the client are active participants in the
counselling process at every stage. Throughout the process, new information is integrated, the
counselor-client relationship is developed, and progress toward achieving the counselling goals.
The counselling process is broken down into various stages from the beginning until the end.

1. Discuss all stages of the counseling process that a counselor needs to know and elaborate
each counselling stage.
2. Give examples of simulations that a counsellor needs to do to illustrate the first stage and
the last stage of the counseling process.
3. Discuss FIVE attributes of an effective counsellor and explain why are these attributes
important in the counselling session?

This part requires students to participate actively in the MyINSPIRE eforum. Discuss the following

 SOALAN TUGASAN

TUJUAN
Tugasan ini bertujuan untuk memberi pelajar peluang untuk menunjukkan:
Pemahaman pelajar mengenai proses kaunseling dan bagaimana peringkat kaunseling ini mesti
dialami dan difahami oleh setiap kaunselor

BAHAGIAN 1: TUGASAN PENULISAN (50%)

KEPERLUAN
Kaunseling profesional merupakan suatu perhubungan yang selamat dan sulit di antara seorang
kaunselor bertauliah dengan seorang klien untuk mempromosikan kesihatan mental dan
kesejahteraan, meningkatkan kefahaman diri, dan menyelesaikan isu atau masalah yang
dikenalpasti. Kaunselor dan klien berinteraksi secara aktif dalam proses kaunseling di ke semua
peringkat. Sepanjang proses ini, maklumat baru diintegrasikan, hubungan kaunselor-klien dibina,
dan berkembang ke arah mencapai matlamat kaunseling. Proses kaunseling boleh dipecahakan
kepada beberapa peringkat dari mula hingga akhir.

1. Bincangkan semua peringkat dalam proses kaunseling yang perlu diketahui oleh
kaunselor dan huraikan setiap peringkat tersebut.
2. Berikan contoh simulasi yang perlu dilakukan oleh kaunselor di peringkat pertama dan
peringkat terakhir proses kaunseling tersebut.
3. Bincangkan LIMA atribut yang perlu dipunyai oleh seorang kaunselor dan jelaskan
kenapakah kelima-lima atribut ini penting dalam sesi kaunseling?
