3 MONITORING COMMITMENTS AND STANDARDS

3.1 MONITORING STANDARDS

Applicable air pollutants standards are sourced from UAE Federal Law No. 24 (Environmental
Protection and Development) 1999. This refers to the statutory document through section 3,
Chapter IV, “Protection against Air Pollution”, where Article 55 states that Enterprises and
establishments provide the necessary means of protection to the workers in accordance with
conditions of safety and occupational health including choice of machine, equipment’s and suitable
types of fuel, taking into consideration the time of exposure to such pollutants. Applicable air quality
standards is given in below table.
Applicable Noise standards sourced from Cabinet Decree (12) of 2006, Federal Environmental
Agency UAE, Regarding Regulation Concerning Protection of air from pollution, Annexure (6)
Allowable limit for noise.

3.2 METHOD
Air Quality Monitoring:
Air Quality Analyser (Combined Sampler) was utilized to carry out Indoor Air Quality Analysis at
one (01) selected location as suggested by the COMPANY’s HSE Advisor. Air Quality Monitoring
was carried out for Temperature, Relative Humidity, Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide
(CO2), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), Ozone (O3), Particulate Matter (PM10) &
Total Organic Compounds (TVOC). Analyser was installed for Eight (08) hours at selected
locations to record the readings.

3.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE AND QUALITY CONTROL

All the instruments utilized in the environmental monitoring were calibrated to ensure the quality of
the measurements. The calibration (In-House) of some instruments were also completed before
the measurements. Chain of Custody (COC) for Waste Water Sample was also followed for quality
assurance.

4 NON-COMPLIANCE

The environmental monitoring was conducted for ambient air quality and waste water sampling
analysis for Al Wathba Site Area. The samples collected of wastewater was sent to ISO: 17025
certified laboratory for further laboratory analysis. All the parameters monitored at site were in
compliance with applicable standards.

5 CONCLUSIONS

The following was concluded on the basis of environmental monitoring activities.

 The Ambient Air Quality carried out at one (01) Location/point all the parameters were found
to be within the compliance as per Cabinet Decree (12) of 2006, Federal Environmental agency
of UAE, Regarding Regulation Concerning Protection of Air from Pollution, and Annexure (8)
Ambient Air Quality Standards.
 The wastewater sampling and testing has been carried out of one (01) sample and all the
parameters were found within allowable limits.
