INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

Instructional Materials are the tools used in educational lessons which includes active
learning and assessment. Basically, it is an any resource a teacher uses to help him/her
to teach his students is an instructional material. These learning materials is very crucial
for the teachers and students wherein it helps to provide information and an aid during
the process of learning.

Types of Instructional Tools


Reading Book a book for learners who wants to learn how to read and to have some
leisure to practice. This book help students to accustom to looking and understanding
written words. It is a material that will help the learner to improve reading skill and
reading comprehension. In this book there are a lot of important moral lessons that they
can apply in the future.
Textbook contains readings, teaching points, drill, activities and tasks for every lesson
and it is usually the main reference for the entire course. There are a lot of task in the
book that they must to answer but those activities will depend to the lesson of their
teacher. Moreover, it contains different information that will help the teacher and
students to gather evidences to support their assignments and their tasks that they
should be accomplish.
Workbook/Skillbook it provides exercises and drills in specific skills in listening,
speaking, reading and writing. It is also presents reinforcement and remedial activities
to support lessons in the textbook. This instructional tool will help the students to
practice their capability to achieve the task. Moreover, it will also help them to improve
their skills through this book.
Flashcards is a set of cards baring information as words or numbers on either or both
sides used in the classroom drills. It also contribute the learning process of the students,
wherein their teacher can use this tool for the specific activity. This will be a material
that would help the classroom environment not be boring, in this case students will be
more active and participative during the discussion.
Visual Aid is an item of a visual manner such as graphs photographs, video clips etc.
used in addition to spoken information. Visual aids are choose depending on its
purpose. It is also contains information that will serve as the activity for the learners.
This tools is also serves as an interactive material so that the learners will be learning
as soon as possible.
