    Introduction
     Cracks have been observed on the component made from supplied stainless steel bars. As per the
    customer UT indications were lead to cracks.
     Microanalysis of the received samples has been carried out and discussed in the respective sections.

    Magnification-50X Magnification-100X
    Remark/Discussion
    1. Microstructure reveals stress crack probably developed during secondary mechanical processing.
    2. No inclusion and other entrapment has been observed
    3. On the basis of morphology crack has not originated from the core as small opening has been
    revealed on the core side.
    4. No idications / evidenece has been observed to link, defect to internal defect.
