Welcome to the English 2 Self-Learning Module on Identifying Important


Details in Expository Text Listened.

This Self-Learning Module was collaboratively designed, developed and


reviewed by educators from the Schools Division Office of Pasig City headed by its
Officer-in-Charge Schools Division Superintendent, Ma. Evalou Concepcion A.
Agustin, in partnership with the City Government of Pasig through its mayor,
Honorable Victor Ma. Regis N. Sotto. The writers utilized the standards set by the K
to 12 Curriculum using the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) in
developing this instructional resource.

This learning material hopes to engage the learners in guided and


independent learning activities at their own pace and time. Further, this also aims
to help learners acquire the needed 21st century skills especially the 5 Cs, namely:
Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Character while
taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.

Jana, Jona and Joseph are siblings. They are triplets,
and they usually do things together. They help each other
in cleaning their house. Jana and Jona fix their bedroom
every morning while Joseph cleans the living room.
Alona their mother loves them very much because

says and listen to her advice as well as her stories.

Before COVID 19 comes in Dela Cruz family used to


have their quality time together. Father Romy gives all the
necessary need of his children such as food, clothing and
shelter. Mother Nina does the household chores for
everybody like cooking, washing the clothes, and taking
care of the kids. Rene, Rona, Riza, and Rove also do their
part in helping mother at home.
Though there is a pandemic the family becomes
closer with each other every day.

Being respectful is a good character as well as being


helpful at all times.
Parenthood is a valuable responsibility for the family
which needs prayer in able achieve goals in life. Lastly as
you go to school whether at home (new normal) listening
and obeying your teacher/parents will give you wisdom
as you grow old.

POSTTEST

Directions: Identify the important details in the story,


choose and write your answers on the space provided.
During this season of pandemic of Covid 19, every
member of the family must be healthy. Father Tony gives
money to mother. Mother Vina goes to the market
every Wednesday to buy fruits, vegetables, fish and
meat.
Riana prepares the kitchen tools needed in cooking
and his brother Rico makes the table ready before eating.
After the all has been set, the family gathers together to
eat in the dining area.
