Critical Path Analysis
• Critical Path Analysis can be defined as the logical sequencing of a series of
event necessary for a successful project implementation in such a manner
that the most efficient route to some culmination point can be calculated.
• It can serve as a provide for ongoing data for assessing progress.
• It can also give Project Manager or Program Planner considerable
information for decision making.
• Critical Path Analysis is a useful planning and management tools for the
following reasons:
• A thorough identification of all major activities requiring time and resources
must during the planning process.
• Logical sequencing of these activities must be made.
• The time required for each activity must be estimated and determined.
• The overall research or planning project is scheduled according to estimated
time, resulting in a determination of the most efficient plan for carrying out the
various activities.
• Continuous evaluation of the planning and implementation progress according
to a predetermined schedule is required so necessary decision making for
maintaining a schedule can be made.
