Ÿ The museum has circular skylights through which it caters natural light.
Ÿ The classrooms has foldable partitions which gives them flexibility to enlarge ,when they
need more space for events .
Ÿ The auditorium has water channels in it’s basements which is used for cooling through small
holes on the floor , this helps in maintaining thermal comfort of the space .

Ÿ The building is constructed from gokak stone with ashlar masonry which helps
in keeping the interiors cool. it is a low maintenance material .
Ÿ Historic maharastrian buildings used stone which enhances the building
aesthically . stone was used.
Ÿ The thickness of the wall is 450mm which consist of two layers of 100 mm
stone and 1brick thick layer in the center.

Ÿ The institute lacked classrooms and labs.
Ÿ Most circulation spaces had no roofs which
caused them trouble in the monsoon.
Ÿ The stone masonry helped for keeping the
circular window and temporary roof for weather
interiors.
