INTRODUCTION

E-commerce or Electronic commerce has brought revolutionary changes in


the business sector. The inception of internet technology made it possible.
The whole world is experiencing a tremendous transition in business,
nowadays internet is used as a tool for business even for Bangladesh.

PERSPECTIVE OF BANGLADESH

The economic growth of Bangladesh is quite steady and showing an upward trend.

Bangladesh e-commerce sector has shown significant improvement, even during the
world financial recession the GDP growth was remarkable.
It is considered one of the fastest growing major economies in the world with a
significant GDP growth rate.
The E-commerce sector drew attention as well, and it quickly established itself as one of
the most important frontier markets for international investors.
Sustainable Growth in Bangladesh
INVESTMENT IN PEOPLE
Education must be linked to industry by improving skilled
human capital production. At least 4% of GDP should be
invested in education in order to construct a developed country.

gradually evolving towards a digital based future.
E-commerce online shopping has received huge
responses from Bangladeshi users over the years.
Today, there exists 50+ reputed and recognized E-
commerce websites competing over this digital market.
The most popular ones include Chaldal, Daraz,
Rokomari, Foodpanda, Pickaboo, Bikroy, Othoba,
Ajkerdeal, Bagdoom etc.
These websites have successfully entered the market
for online shopping, grocery shopping, online business
and many other sectors.

in Bangladesh
The Government of Bangladesh withdrew the 49 percent maximum
allowable shareholding limit on foreign eCommerce companies in June
2020, allowing 100 percent foreign-owned companies to operate in
Bangladesh.
The e-commerce entities need to clearly state the details of the products
they sell online, which include the product's quality along with its return
policy.
E-traders will have to sign a deal with the products' suppliers, delivery
channels and payment gateways to ensure that customers' rights are
appropriately protected, reads the policy.
Product delivery has been included as an emergency service.
Potentials of E-Commerce in Bangladesh
E-commerce industry in Bangladesh seems to be very emerging in the next few days, with more
than 165 million inhabitants and 96 million internet subscribers.
In terms of e-commerce revenues, Bangladesh is ranked 46th in the global ranking.
BTRC announced that in 2017 there were 80.6 million internet users, and 91.3 million internet
users in 2018. There have been 96 million internet users according to the data of June 2019.
Roughly 45% people are potential users of e-commerce.
Online sales are known to have risen by 70 to 80% since 2020.
Currently there are 2000 website-based entrepreneurs in Bangladesh and it is estimated that
around 500,000 jobs will be created through digital platforms in the next one year.
