1. PURPOSE:

Define a procedure to provide a proper and efficient sequence of works shall be performed
in safe manner and good working practice in accordance with the project specifications,
Saudi Aramco Construction Safety Manual and other relevant Industry Codes and
Standards.
2. SCOPE:
This covers all Chemical Anchoring methodology in concrete which considered being minor
defects upon the Client assessment.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Construction Manager
Shall ensure that all operations have been risk assessed and the necessary control measures have been
implemented to carry out the tasks in safely manner. He shall strictly implement and monitor the
methodology of works in accordance with the approved procedure and IFC drawings are compliance
with the quality, safety and schedule requirements.
 Civil Superintendent
Ensure compliance by all labors and equipment operators and other associated craftsmen to the
requirements of this procedure, Project Quality Plan, relevant approved IFC Drawings, HSE
requirements as well as the Project Specifications.Secure all necessary Work Permits.
 QC Inspector - Civil
He shall monitor the daily activities and verifies its compliance to project specifications. Conduct
activities in accordance with the Project QA Manual and Quality Inspection Plan.
 Engineering Department
Shall provide Technical assistance to construction operation. Ensure that approved IFC Drawings at
site shall be in its most recent revision together with the relevant shopdrawings shall be provided at
site.
 Safety Officer/ Supervisor
Shall control, supervise and record toolbox meetings. Inspect, approve or reject engaged resources.
Ensure that all HSE requirements are met and implemented while executing the works. Notify the
person in charge on site if any deviation and/or corrective remedy action to be applied before and
while executing the works. Ensure that recommendation of work place precaution followed up
strictly. Stop any/or all works in case specified recommendation/ observations were not followed up
by construction management team.

4. PROCEDURE:
 Hole preparation and Formation
Optimum performance of Lokflix requires rough sided, dust free holes. Uses of rotary
percussive drills with air and water flushing are recommended.
Diamond drilled holes should be under-reamed unless necessary safety factors are
incorporated.
Cast holes should preferably be inverse dovetail configuration. If parallel sides holes are
cast they should be rough to provide adequate keying.
 Bar Preparation
All bars should preferably be degreased and all flaky rust removed.
 Mixing
A complete pack of resin and catalyzed filler should be mixed in one operation. Mixing
may be carried out mechanically. When a smooth, even consistency is achieved the
grout is ready for use and should be placed well within the gel of the grout.
Packs have been designed to produce practical and economic volumes of grout.
Do not attempt to mix partial pack components.
 Installation
Lokfix polyester resin grout S & L
Using the calculated volume of grout based on Table 1, the grout should be poured
steadily into the prepared holes. The anchor bar is then pressed into the hole to the
required depth. Slight agitation of the bar will assist in achieving a complete bond. The
bar should then be left undisturbed in the reqired position until the resin is set.
Lokfix polyester resin grout P
The grout should be injected to the rear of the hole to avoid air entrapment. The
thixotropic nature of Lokfix P will prevent significant flow of resin out of the hole.

Any mixing drums, pumps, etc. should be cleaned within the pot life of the grout.
Nitoflor Sol is available for this purpose.

5. QUALITY ASSURANCE AND QUALITY CONTROL

The quality of the works shall be performed in line with the SA Quality
Standards. Relevant Inspections shall be made at stages as per the approved ITP’s.
Contractor QA/QC Inspectors shall closely monitor and assure all general
materials are complying with the project specifications. Frequent inspections shall be
conducted and all records shall be maintained as required by project QA/QC Program in
accordance with approved Project Quality Plan & ITP’s.
All the tests to be performed shall be in conformance with the project standards.
Only approved third party testing laboratory technician(s) shall be responsible for

performing all related civil tests. Any materials and works not conforming to the project
specifications shall be rejected by the relevant discipline approved QC Inspector(s).

6. GENERAL HSE CONTROL

 All work shall be performed in accordance with requirement SAUDI ARAMCO project
HSE regulation.
 All the required PPE shall be provided to workers prior to activity.
 Safety induction and required trainings shall be given to the workers to ensure that they
are competent to complete the required task.
 Safety monitoring shall be utilized during working hours and all employees shall have
authority to stop unsafe work practices or condition to be found.
 Ensure workers shall maintain social distance during working.
 Ensure all workers shall be wear safety mask to control the spread of COVID-19
infection.
