2. Project Description Fire escape stairs is an important component in building


structure which serves as additional safety feature in case of fire
and other emergency situations.

1. Improve college facilities with the provision of two units

secondary exits of the buildings;

4. Serves as one of the compliance for the Fire Code of the
Philippines.
5. To secure & pass Fire Safety Inspection Clearance

III. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION


1. Project Background

The Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology


(MinSCAT) has on-going building constructions which requires
safety features in compliance with the existing laws and regulations.
Currently, the Old Science Laboratory Building and Education
Building has no secondary exits in the form of stairs in which the
Bureau of Fire Protection is requiring for an educational facility
with three of more level to provide secondary stairs as Fire
Emergency Escape.

2. Goal
The project aims to:
1. Provide a safe and reliable academic facilities equipped with
necessary safety features complied with the existing codes, laws
and regulations.

3. Purpose 1. To provide students and faculty with safe and accessible


emergency exits;
2. Enhance security features of the two academic facilities

4. Project Outputs  Newly built 3-level fire emergency escape stairs with 0.9m
wide.
 Improved safety features in two academic buildings

educational facilities for the stakeholders.

3. Economic Benefits A safe and more reliable facilities will protect its users against
emergency situations such as fire and earthquakes. Protecting the
people will benefits the economy in general and long term.
4. Social Costs No additional social cost is needed.

5. Economic Costs An amount of P1,000,000.00 is needed to finish the provision of


two emergency stairs in two academic facilities.
