DEMONSTRATION TEACHING LESSON PLAN IN EPAS 8

CONTENT STANDARD: The learner demonstrates understanding of the Resistor Color Coding.

LEARNING COMPETENCY: The learner independently demonstrates on how to read the resistor color coding.

I. Objectives

Within the discussion, the students are expected to:

a. Identify the different color of the resistors;
b. Listen attentively in the lesson presentation;
c. Explain the function of the resistor color code.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Resistor Color Coding in Electronics

Time Frame: 7:00 – 11:00 Am MWF
Materials: WLAS, media projector, PowerPoint presentation, Resistor color coding, and actual
resistor.
Strategy: Cooperative Learning Method
Approaches: 4A’s
Subject Integration: Mathematics and Science.
References: EPAS 8 WLAS, week 7.

III. Procedure:

A. Preliminary activities
A1. Greetings
A2. Prayer
A3.Arranging of chairs
A4.Checking of attendance

1. Review
(The teacher will review the past lesson or call student/s to recap the lesson)

2. New Lesson
a. Motivation
(The teacher will present different types of resistor and allow students to give their own interpretation
on the actual resistor based on the questions that the teacher will be asking.)
1. What is your observation on this resistor?
2. What does the second resistor represent?
3. What comes in your mind when you see this actual resistor?
b. Presentation/Discussion
(The teacher will discuss the resistor color coding)

B. Developmental Activities
1. Activity
(The students will be grouped into two and they will be given resistors, they will identify the color
and the number equivalent.)

2. Analysis
(The teacher will present color coding chart and ask if the chart is an example of the resistor color
coding.)
1. This chart has an example of resistor color color?
2. Is this resistor have a number equivalent?
3. Is this resistor have a color equivalent?

3. Abstraction
(The teacher will discuss briefly or ask students to give the summary of the discussion.)
1. When we say resistor, it has a different colors namely:
2. Talking about resistor, it has a color and assigned number equivalent namely;
3. Considering color and number equivalent, it has a lot of functions.

C. Culminating Activities

1. Application
(The students will be grouped into two and let them think and solve the problem given by the teacher,
after that each group will be present their work in the class.)

2. Evaluation
(The student will respond to the five questions.)

3. Assignment
(Let the students familiarize the Resistor Color Coding with their assigned number equivalent for
preparation of summative test.)
