Why Community Diagnosis is important


This is the foundation for improving and promoting the health of community members. The role
of community assessment is to identify factors that affect the health of a population and
determine the availability of resources within the community to adequately address these factors

 A comfortable, safe, and peaceful community where one can find solace after all the problems
and needs with the community. This barangay is well-known in town for its compassion for one's
neighbor. Barangay Tahanan consists of people with different beliefs, practices, and different
lifestyles.  Barangay Tahanan is more than simply a location; it is a place that provides comfort
to everybody.

susceptible to fake news and low literacy when it comes to health-related topics that must be a

Human health is at risk through our inaction. Since barangay Tahanan has open and uncontained
garbage will provide food for flies, rats and mice, and if the situation persists over time, large
populations of flies and rodents may develop.
LAND USE
Barangay Tahanan is a community that comprises a lot of landmarks that make it distinct and
incomparable to other communities. With this, the resources within the premises can cater to the
needs of the community and will no longer have the hassle of going somewhere far from their
place just to buy things for their homes.
CLIMATE SEASON
Barangay Tahanan has two seasons, dry and wet seasons. During the wet season, the
barangay has to take preventive measures to diseases that they can acquire during this time like
dengue, leptospirosis, flu, colds, cough etc. In times of the dry season when the temperature and
humidity levels are high, they have good water irrigation that can aid the farmers’ needs for their
farms and animals.

methods. This indicates that their family planning is appropriate in light of their moral obligation
to care for, and protect their children by restricting the size of their family.

CONTRACEPTIVE USERS 51% of the families in Barangay Tahanan use


contraceptives. And 49% of them do not use any of it.
7% - abstinence, 12% used pills, 3% used IUD, and injection. 6% used condom and
ligation. 13% used withdrawal and the remaining 51% which is the majority that do not use any
contraceptive as part of their family methods.

PROBLEM #1: POOR HOME/ ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION/ SANITATION –


WASTE SEGREGATION AS HEALTH-RELATED PROBLEM

● On the data collected there are about 60% of the population is burning. Waste
indiscriminate disposal is recognized as an important cause of environmental pollution
and is associated with health problems.

SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION
● In the data collected there were 34 individuals (75.6%) out of the 45 total population
who did not seek medical attention when they got sick or acquired illnesses.

PROBLEM #3: HEALTH-RELATED: INEFFECTIVE FAMILY PLANNING


 49 % of the population in Barangay Tahanan do not use any contraceptives as part of
their family planning methods.

● 86.4% of households have responded that environmental problems are the leading
problem of the community.

● 10.1% of the population are unemployed and 48.8% of the population is none or does not
have employment status with a total of 58.9% of the total population.

PROBLEM #6: HIGH FREQUENCY OF FAMILIES THAT HAVE LOW MONTHLY


INCOME
 On the data collected, there is 60% of the total population surveyed that have below
5001-10,000 monthly income, and this is considered the poverty level in the Philippines.

After 1 week of nursing intervention, the barangay/community head or family will make a
necessary measure to reduce the unemployment status and provide livelihood programs and
training for the community to have other sources of income.

Discuss the health needs of the family and be aware of the importance of having extra income for
the family.

Discuss the needs of the community and suggest activities that they can undergo to promote
employment of the community.

The barangay officials will be able to come up with livelihood programs and training for the
community to learn new skills.

Majority of the community will show support and actively participate in the said activity to make
the program alive and improve more.
