4 RADIO TEACHER: A vowel digraph is a combination of two vowels that make a
5 single vowel sound like oa in ‘boat’, oo in ‘book’, ee in ‘feet’, ea in ‘meat’, ai in ‘rain’,
6 and ay in pray. It can be found either at the beginning, at the middle, or at the end of
7 the word. The vowel digraphs ay and ai have long a sound. Ea and ee have long e
8 sound, while oo and oa have long o sound. Here are some examples of words with
9 vowel digraph.
10 Repeat after me:
