ABOUT US

Founded in 2016, Dao’s Care is a social enterprise offering Red Dao herbal

baths and therapeutic massages. Our objectives are providing sustainable long

term career opportunities to visually impaired people from disadvantaged

backgrounds. Weoffer vocational education in massage techniques, life-skill

training, employment, living accommodation and supporting ethnic minorities

group (mostly Red Dao and Hmong) by using their secret remedies for our

herbal baths, as well as selling their herbal products.

Dao’s Care has successfully established a respectable market share in Hanoi,

which has not only saw our business expand but it has also increased the level of

positive impact on beneficiaries. We have established a brand and reputation in

Hanoi.

Firstly, Dao’s Care’s operations provide small group training to our therapists to

increase their knowledge and understanding of massage techniques; providing

life skill training and a nurturing family environment. The focus on Dao’s Care

is to provide the visually impaired therapists with a profession and the

confidence to live independent lives and contribute to their families and

communities.

2
Secondly, working with the Red Dao people and the social enterpriseSapanapro,

Dao’s Care aims to provide authentic services and products like herbal baths and

essential oil. We want to preserve the indigenous knowledge of medicinal plants

and traditional culture of the Red Dao people in Sapa.Promote their herbal

products will create more sustainable forest-based livelihoods for the Red Dao

families and increasingly spread the benefits of an eco-friendly lifestyle in the

community.

Dao’s Care in its early development has spent considerable effort on business

planning, processes and systems, marketing and communication to ensure a

strong platform for a sustainable business and strong customer base.

In Vietnam, the society still has two misconceptions about what the "massage"

industry actually does. On the one hand, people often associate massages with

social evils, as many massage facilities are used as a disguise for prostitution.

Massage is also often confused with the concept of "Tam Quat" to refer to the

traditional health care model that is served a lot in low-cost establishments and

for low prices (80.0000 Vnd /hour). Many blind people in Vietnam work in such

facilities all over the country because they have no other career options. These

two viewpoints have led society to not respect the professionalism of massages

and also see it as an unrespectable profession.

3
In Dao's Care, we believe that being a masseuse is a noble profession. We

welcome everyone to have massages at our spa, we believe massages are not

only beneficial in that they heal your body but also heal your mind. For more

information, visithttps://vi.daoscare.com/

Furthermore, visually impaired massage therapists we train and will train in the

future do sometimes feel unconfident or depressed about their lives and their

careers. We hope to overcome this, by not only training them to be independent

in their working lives but also inspire and motivate them to feel proud and

confident about their careers. The measures we will take to mitigate these issues

will include:

Inspiring our visually impaired therapists through weekly talks via sharing

the healthy positive effects that massages can provide to the public and as

well as informing them of famous therapists around the world. We will also

invite massage specialists into our spas to provide guidance and support to

our visually impaired staff which will hopefully increase their confidence and

their skill level for their future careers.

4
Apply strict initial principles in the new community we relocate to, such as

refusing customers drinking alcohol beforehand or demonstrating unethical

behavior. This is to protect our employees as well as our other customers.

Educate our clients through various communication channels so that they

understand our model and respect our employees.

Dao’s Care is a social enterpriseto meet objectives needs to be a

SUCCESSFUL business.

Until the COVID 19 epidemic Dao’s Care was commencing to move to into

planningforexpanding the number of facilities and products offered. More

customers through more facilities leveraging our reputation and brand will

result in more revenue and impact for our beneficiary group.

COVID 19 resulted in a decrease in revenue. Sometimes we have had to close

the Spa because of state government policy and have to face many difficulties to

maintain business.
