SYNOPSIS-1
COMMERCIAL HUB, GR. NOIDA

ANU SHISHODIA – 20/SA/001

GAUTAM BUDDHA UNIVERSITY (DELHI NCR)

WHY COMMERCIAL HUB???

Commercial buildings are buildings where commercial activities take place.

Commercial buildings include office buildings, retail space, warehouses and
more. This differs somewhat from commercial property, which also includes
multi-family buildings like apartment buildings. The reason for this is that
commercial buildings are where commerce happens, while commercial property
earns money for its owners but doesn't have to have commerce happening in it.
Multi-use buildings that have a mix of spaces, such as a retail area and
apartments, can still be considered commercial in certain circumstances.

NEED FOR A COMMERCIAL HUB

Commercial buildings are an important part of doing business, both for those
who own them and for those who rent them. A commercial building could
contain one or more of many types of businesses, including retailers,
restaurants, offices or manufacturing.

Commercial areas in a city are areas, districts, or neighborhoods primarily

composed of commercial buildings, such as a strip malls, office
parks, downtown, central business district, financial district, "Main
Street", or shopping centers.

Commercial activity within cities includes the buying and selling of goods and
services in retail businesses, wholesale buying and selling, financial
establishments, and a wide variety of uses that are broadly classified as
"business." While commercial activities typically take up a relatively small
amount of land, they are extremely important to a community's economy. They
provide employment, facilitate the circulation of money, and often serve many
other roles important to the community, such as public gathering and cultural
events.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

 To study and experience the process of designing a commercial hub.

 Most commercial hubs are functional but lacking in aesthetics. My aim is
to set up this balance.
 The built form and spaces should reflect an environment conducive to
the free flow of economy.
 To design a place where the primary objective of the hub is to support
economy.
 To design spaces where one can interact with the rest.
GREEN INITIATIVE

 Keeping in view the explosive rise in energy consumption across the

globe, the hub must be an example of low energy sustainable
development.
 The goal is to reduce CO2 emissions, energy use, and water use, while
creating an atmosphere where future tycoons can learn as well as be
healthy.
 Since commercial hubs are where the world’s economy find its space to
flourish more and support the surrounded areas.
