CONCLUSION:
After performing this experiment there are following observations that Voltages across a string is not
uniformly distributed and insulator close to conductor has high stress of voltage across it and due to
this, there are high probability of disc failure. This non uniform voltage is due to capacitances existed
with the string 1). Self-capacitance which is due to metallic pin and cap on the ends of disc insulators
2). Shunt-capacitance which is due to metallic parts between discs and grounded tower as air acts as

insulator between them. These two capacitances are cause behind this non-uniformity. Another thing,
which is notable, is as the insulators are reduced in a string the efficiency increases.
