Reflection Paper
The way I prepared for my interview was researching a little bit into my interviewees

background. I knew she works for a sales job and I asked questions based on that and

also based on how long she's worked there for. I decided to use a funnel sequence for

my question structure because I wanted to start with some more open questions right

off the bat to understand her career better and then narrowed it down to more closed

questions to wrap the interview up. I researched her by asking before we zoomed in on

how long she's worked there, and then looked at the company website to get a better

feel for what she does. Instructed the interview in a time sequence because I wanted

the questions to be in a chronological order so the interview could run more smoothly. I

feel that my interview followed the structure pretty well, at some points she would go off

a little bit and it wasn't in a time sequence but I feel I pulled it back together back into

that sequence when asking my questions.

The first takeaway I took from this was being confident when asking my

questions, making sure to do a lot of prior background research on the person you're

interviewing, and to take your time when completing an interview guide. I feel that I

learned so much on the right ways you can conduct an interview and what works

best/what does not. I learned a lot about the sales world from the person I interviewed

and it sparked a lot of interest. When the interview was over, I did end up emailing my

interviewer a thank you for her time because I know she works everyday and is always

busy. In the future, I think to look at it as a more positive thing more so than an interview

that could be intimidating. is just being super upbeat about the interview
