1. Have students sit in a circle
2. Today we will be learning what a seed needs in order to grow
3. Ask students if they know what a seed needs in order to grow
4. Take answers from students
5. Today we will be playing a song and students will have to use their
listening ears in order to see what a seed needs in order to grow
6. Play song for students
7. Ask students again if they noticed anything that they missed that
plants need to grow
8. Now that we went over what plants need in order to grow, we will
now be showing you guys’ pictures of the items that we listed
9. Show students pictures of what is needed for a plant to grow
10. Break students into groups for each

12. We will go over the movements that the groups decide
13. Each group will demonstrate their movement
14. Play the song a second time and each group will act out their
movement at the appropriate time
15. Start the song and narrate it as the students act out the process with
the song playing
16. Act out how a plant starts as a seed and how the elements help it to
grow
17. After the song ends…
18. “Now let's try to do ALL the movements that show how a seed grows
into a beautiful plant”
19. Go over all the movements once again for all the elements needed for
a seed to grow into a plant
20. Practice once without the music
21. “Did we notice a pattern with what order the elements that we need
for a seed to grow are in?”
22. Get answers from students
23. Play the song once again and narrate it once again having the students
do all the movements for the elements

Closure:
24. Have the students sit back in a circle
25. Discuss what they learned about what seeds need to grow
