Work Place: Cabcaburao Elementary School

A.
a.
b. complete the table
Pre-test Post test Mean Gain t-computed t-value t-probability Decision
Mean Mean value (tabular) value

4.18 20 -15 81 11.13 1.01 Do not reject

Interpretation:
This means that the post test result is higher than the pre-test result. It implies that the
developed modules on the least learned competency in Mathematics is effective.

B.
a. The alternative hypothesis is therefore accepted in favour of the research hypothesis.
b. complete the table
Strategy A Strategy B Mean t-computed t-value t-probability Decision
Mean Mean Difference value (tabular) value

82.67 84.58 -2.08 1.41 1.01 Do not reject

Interpretation:
This means that the Strategy B is higher than the Strategy A result and this implies that
strategy B is most effective than Strategy A.
C.
Complete the table

Mechanical 6.25

Analysis of Variance Table

Source of Degrees of Sum of Squares Mean Squares F-Value
Variation Freedom Computed Tabular
Between 2 752.33 376.16 4.83 2.01
Groups (k-1)
Within Groups 21 1636 77.90
(N-1)-(k-1)
Total N-1 23 2388.33 103.84

Interpretation:
The F-computed value of 4.83 is greater than the F-tabular value of 2.01 at 0.05 level of
significance with 2 and 21 degrees of freedom, the null hypothesis is rejected in favour of the research
hypothesis which means that there is a significant difference between and among errors committed in
the written responses of the students.

D.
Chi-Square Value = 74811.08

Interpretation:
This means that there is a significant difference between the marital status of 400
adults in drinking habits.
E.

a.
Conclusion: Since the computed value of r which is 0. 304 is less than the tabular value of .553 at 0.05
level of significance with 11 degrees of freedom, the null hypothesis is confirmed in favor of the research
hypothesis. This means that there is no significant relationship between family socioeconomic status and
academic performance of the students.

b.
Conclusion: Since the computed value of r which is 0.862 is greater than the tabular value of .553 at 0.05
level of significance with 11 degrees of freedom, the null hypothesis is disconfirmed in favor of the research
hypothesis. This means that there is a significant relationship between father’s educational attainment and
the academic performance of the students.

c.
- The academic performance of a child whose father’s educational attainment is a Ph. D. graduate is
directly proportional which means that the higher the father’s educational attainment the higher the
academic performance of a child.

d. What would be a good title for this research?

- A good title for this research is “Factors Affecting on the Academic Performance of Students”.

e. Formulate at least two (2) statements of the problem.

1. What are the factors affecting academic performance of students in terms of :
a. Sex
b. Father’s Educational Attainment
c. Mother’s Educational Attainment
d. Text book (with and without)
e. Internet (exposed and not exposed)
f. Family Socio-Economic Status
2. Is there a significant relationship between father’s educational attainment and family socio-economic
status to the academic performance of the students?

f. State one possible alternative hypothesis of this study.

- There is a significant difference of the factors affecting on the academic performance of students.

g. Give the appropriate statistical tools to be utilized for the above data.
- The appropriate statistical tool to be used is the Pearson Product Moment Correlation.
