PROPOSED METHODOLOGY

Risk and Assumptions

The project assumes that:
• Gather and accommodate the target number of children
• The goals and objectives of the facilitators will be achieved
• There are enough human resources and materials needed for the project
• The beneficiaries are able to receive enough kits given by the facilitators
• The facilitators assume that the beneficiaries will cooperate and give their full
interest on the project.
• Facilitators can provide enough kits for the beneficiaries.
• The scheduled time and day will be followed
• The kits provided will benefit the beneficiaries and help them to nurture their
proper hygiene
• The giving of the kits is expected to be fun at the same time beneficial.

Risk
Amidst the above-mentioned goals and expectations, the facilitators will still face
significant risks. First is the number of people who would benefit in the chosen area,
depending on their age and the target people of the project. Moreover, one of the
significant risks is the program's schedules; the facilitators are most likely to start their
projects during Wednesdays on their NSTP schedule, and if this is not followed,
complications may arise due to their weekday classes. Given the current outbreak,
physical instruction or engaging in face-to-face launching of projects will lead to higher
risk for the both the facilitator and also the beneficiary. Beneficiaries and the local
government’s permission and agreement are absolutely necessary, and some may
refuse to allow physical launching due to the high risk because of the pandemic, also
the interest of the beneficiaries and their local barangay staff in participating is essential
and some may decline and not participate due to some reasons. Furthermore, owing to
unforeseen circumstances, the facilitators can be short on materials and human
resources.
Activities

The BSED Filipino 1st year students of Mindanao State University of General Santos
City under NSTP-LTS proposed a project that will provide activities that helps to teach
proper hygiene in times of pandemic and exposed children to literacy and numeracy
skills in Barangay Mongokayo Tboli South Cotabato under the advisory of their NSTP
Professor, Ms. Ellen Jane Camus.
The organizers will conduct an orientation in their locality that provide basic knowledge
in proper hygiene. The facilitators will demonstrate proper steps in sanitation and
hygiene for both young and old citizens and distribute sanitation and hygiene solution.

knowledge of literacy and numerals. It is applicable for young and old. And for
additional, activities that will help to boost the self-confidence of every individual and
help to improve their personal relation.
Proper protocols will be observed in this activities, face mask and face shield will be a
must. The organizer will be responsible for implementing proper protocol in the area.
This activity will be done at August 5, 2021. It is expected that the activities will be
successfully finished in a day.

Human Resources
The project will be led by Ms. Ellen Jane Camus, the adviser of section 12-1W in the
subject National Service Training Program 2. The adviser will supervise the whole
operation of the project and will evaluate each student involved in carrying out the
project. This project will be done by the students of NSTP 2 where activities that are
guided by the schedule will be conducted. There will be distribution of hygiene kit after
the students of NSTP 2 teach the community members of Mangokayo with numeracy
and literacy skills.

Material Resources
Most of the budget will be allocated to the materials that will be used for the numeracy
and literacy teaching sessions and contents of the hygiene kit. The materials for the
teaching sessions are pencil, paper, black board and chalk while the hygiene kit will
include Alcohol, Toothbrush, toothpaste, hand soap, shampoo, face towels and at last,
tarpaulin where the project title and theme will be seen. Cellphones and cameras will
also be used as instrument for documentation of the activities throughout the duration of
the teaching sessions and distribution of the hygiene kit. At the end of the said project,
there will be distribution of certificates to recognize and appreciate the participation and

the students will provide through donations, recycling and their own wallets.
Project Implementation

The project proposed by the students of NST002 entitled Project Malob Para Be Kéh'ye:
Ensure Access to Clean and Proper Sanitation, the project would be implemented once
it is approved. The project's activities will be carried out in a training session led by
NSTP students with the assistance of Miss Ellen Jane Camus, their instructor.

Students will be given a time frame to give hygiene kit to the People of Barangay
Mongokayo, Tboli South Cotabato. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it may be advisable
to increase the amount of soap and cleaning products that are being provided to
families. If there is more soap and cleaning products available via hygiene kits, then
people will use these resources less sparingly and the frequency of hygiene practices
may increase, and at the same time teach numeracy and literacy skills to childrens.
Children are at the forefront of the learning process where they start improving their
ability to read and develop their desire to learn unaccompanied. The project
implementers, headed by the officers and committee members, were given instructions
to ensure the expected progress. One of the approaches that students will use to carry
out the goals and activities are going to its selected Barangay, since the student's
recipients can’t be seen within their community.
