IV. PROCEDURES
A. Springboard/Motivation (Establishing a Activity 1: Video Presentation
purpose for the lesson)
 Show learners a video clip about different herbal plants.
 Let learners be attentive to the video being presented.
Ask:
 Did you like the video you’ve seen?
 What is the video all about?
 Can you name what are the herbal plants being flash on the
video?
 Do we have that plants here in our barangay or community or
country?
 Do you know those herbal plants?

B. Activity (Review of previous lesson/s or Activity 2: Speak Up


Presenting the new lesson)
 Let learners be prepared for some Oral Presentation.
 Let them bring their project base on the previous lesson.
 Let learners go in front of the class and discuss about their project.
 Give merit to those learners who submit their project on time.
 Give demerits to those learners who did not make their assigned
projects.

Ask:
 Where did you search those answers you got?
 Did you find if very resourceful to use the internet?
 Upon knowing doing your research, did you find some difficulties in
doing it?
 Did you like the activity you did?
 Why did you like it?
 Did you find it very useful? Why?
 Can you rate your project from level 1 up to 10?

 Check learners project after the learning session.

C. Analysis (Presenting examples/instances of Activity 3: Choose Me

 Call learners who will answer the following questions.
 Give credit to those learners who answer it well.

Let us suppose you have many herbs in your backyard.

Ask:
 How will you use them?
 Should the leaves be dried and made into powder so that they
can be mixed with our food?
 Are the seeds eaten raw or are they cooked in a certain way?
 How much of the medicine are you supposed to take?
 And which plant part will you use?
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new Activity 4: Group Work (Prepare Me Carefully)
skills (sub-activity #1)
 Group learners into five base on the how they will prepare the
herbal medicine.

 Give each group a metacards showing some procedure in making


simple herbal medicine.

 Let the all members of the group participate into the activity.

 Refer to the module on page 19-20 about the preparation of herbs,


the parts and plants that will be used.

 Let them answer some questions base on the activity they do.

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new Demonstration Stage


skills (sub-activity #2)
 Continue discussing the lesson on the module page 21-23.

 Teacher Facilitator will do the remaining procedure on page 22-23.

 How to prepare lagundi to cure cough and Akapulko (Cassia alta) to


anti-fungal cure.

 Let learner observe how the facilitator do the demonstration.

F. Abstraction (Making generalizations about the Activity 5: Group Work ( Write Me On)

 Each group answer some questions base on the
demonstration done on previous stage.
 Let them write their answers on the manila paper or cartolina.
 Each group will call a representative to explain their answers in
front of the class.

Q1(Question 1)
 What are the herbal plants being demonstrated a while ago?
 Can you tell what are the ingredients in making Lagundi for
cough?
 Is it hard to prepare the medicine?
 Can you find lagundi leaf in your backyard or barangay?
 In our own dialect what is lagundi leaf ?

Q2 (Question 2)
 Can you tell what are the ingredients in making Akapulko
herbal medicine for anti-fungal?
 Is it hard to prepare the medicine?
 Can you find Akapulko plants in your backyard or barangay?
 In our own dialect what is Akapulko ?

 Check learners answer.


 Give credits to the group by giving “Makarit Clap” after
the explanation.

G. Application (Developing mastery) Activity 6: Think-Pair-Share

 Let learners answers some questions on the module on page 23-


26.

 Let them choose a partner in answering the questions.

 Each one of them will share or contribute ideas in answering the


questions.

 Let each pair answer their questions in front of the class.

 After each pair elaborate their answers, facilitator will now each
their answers and learners will compare their answers.
