Sign up for and complete an official check out (by appointment). Appointments can only be made
from May 23– June 1. If a student fails to make an appointment to check out, they will be assessed a
$50 improper check-out fee. Note: You must be completely moved out of your side of the
room before a RA can perform a check-out. All check-out times occurring between the hours
of 9pm-7:59am and anytime Saturday June 11 must be approved by the Resident Director.

pected to be charged to the room that are not all residents’ responsibility. To do this, fill out a Dam-
age/Cleaning Charge Agreement and return it when you check out. Any charges not noted on the
agreement will be the responsibility of all residents of the room equally and will be charged to all
university accounts. It is also helpful to maintenance staff for you to report damages ahead of time.
Work Order Requests are available at the Font Desk.
3
Change your mailing address on ―SU-Online‖ before you leave campus. Students should
contact their bank, credit card companies, magazines, etc. to update their address. Housing and
Residence Life will only forward mail for the duration of one quarter.
4
Clean their room thoroughly, including dusting and vacuuming (plan ahead as vacuums are one of
the hardest items to get during check-out). Any excessive cleaning will result in charges to your uni-
versity account. Please don’t leave a mess for your maintenance to clean up, they have worked hard
for the community all year! Please see the back page for a detailed check list. Return all room furni-
ture to the location it was in at check-in.
5
Return their room key upon check-out. If a student’s room key is not returned, he/she will be
charged a lock change fee of $100-$110 on top of a $50 improper check-out fee.
SOME TIPS:
If you can, take some personal items home on your next visit (i.e. Memorial Day Weekend)
Plan ahead: start arranging your room now, so you don’t have to worry about it later
Defrost and clean your mini-fridges 4 days before you leave to avoid charges!
