“The Goal of the Game”

First and foremost, the players group themselves
into two teams: the Passers and the Guards (also
called the offensive and the defensive). The teams
may also be referred to as the Runners and the
Taggers. Each team is composed of 10 players.

✓ To win the game, the players or runners

need to answer correctly the given
flashcards so they can cross to line without
being touched or tagged by a guard. They
need to get some points by following the
rules in the game.

RULES OF THE GAME

▪ The game starts with a toss of a coin to

decide the team that becomes the passer or
runner.
▪ There is a time limit of five minutes for each
team to score.
▪ Once the five minutes elapse, the two teams
change sides, and the guards become the
passers and vice-versa.
▪ The passers or runners are supposed to
cross the lines from the starting point and
back, to earn a point. But before they cross
the line, they need to answer the given
flashcards.
▪ The line guards are positioned on the
vertical lines with one on the horizontal line
of the grid, making sure that their feet are
always on the line.
▪ The patintero objectives of the line guards
include tagging the passers or runners with
their powered or butterfly hands and
blocking them from passing the lines.
▪ Once a guard tags any of the passers, the
line guards assume the position of the
passers.
▪ If the runner didn’t get the right answer from
the given flashcard in each line that gave by
the teacher, they can’t able to cross in the
next line and will not get the additional point.

3. Show and execute how to play the game

In playing the game;

1. The guards assign a player to the lateral line
in the middle of the rectangle and the other
players on each horizontal line.
2. The runners need to get across to one end
of the big rectangle and back without being
touched or tagged by a guard.
3. During the game, the guards should ensure
they have both feet on the ground before
tagging their opponent; otherwise, it will not
count.
4. Once a runner is tagged, he or she gets out
of the game. If a runner makes it across the
big rectangle and back without being
touched with the butterfly fingers, they earn
a point.
5. Once all the runners of a team have been
tagged, it’s game over.

❖ In the game, in each line, each player needs

to answer the given flashcard of the teacher
before they can cross to another line, then
after crossing they need to answer the
flashcard again to cross in the next line.
Until they reach the finish line or the home.
