2. What kind of root crop does the farmers plant?

3. How much area does the farmer cultivate?

4. How long does the farmers produce root crops?

5. How does the farmers plant root crops?

6. How much produce does farmer gather in one production?

7. What are the purpose of planting root crops?

8. What part of the plant can be utilize?

9. What are the products can be made from the farmer’s produce?

Significance of the Study

The results of the study will be great benefit to the following:

Students

This study will greatly help the students to gain knowledge about the production and
utilization of root crop farmers in Torrijos, Marinduque.

Researchers

This study may help them as a guide and reference. They can also acquire knowledge for
the study they will make in the future.

Community

This study will help the community to gain more ideas about root crops production and
utilization.

Scope and Delimitation

This study was a descriptive survey in selected barangays of Torrijos involving the
production and utilization of local root crops. This research focuses on the production and
utilization of root crops available in different barangays.

This study used purposive sampling design, the respondents were the farmers who are
engaged in root crop production and utilization.

CHAPTER 3

METHODS AND PROCEDURE

This chapter presents the discussion on the research methodology of the study, the
subject/respondents, sampling technique, research instrument, procedure of data gathering, and
statistical treatment.

Research Methodology

This research used qualitative method with descriptive research design. We


described/explain the data collected from the subject accurately.

Subject/Respondents of the Study

The respondents of the study were the root crop farmers in different barangays in
Torrijos, Marinduque.

Sampling Technique

In this research paper, we used non-probability sampling, specifically purposive sampling


technique because our respondents were the root crop farmers in Torrijos, Marinduque. This is
because the intention or the purpose of the study suits the best for them.

Research Instrument

The research instrument used in this study was survey questionnaire that were distributed
and asked to all of our respondents.

Procedure of Data Gathering

The data were gathered by handing the questionnaire to the responded and asked them.
Researchers take down notes the significant ideas and knowledge gave by the farmers. After
collecting the data, researchers combined the collected data, interpreted, and analyzed it.

Statistical Treatment of Data

All of our questions will use table and percentage to know the answers of the respondent.
