Title: Rebound Hammer Testing Report for Structural Assessment of Puyog Barangay Hall
Introduction:
The researchers from BSCE-4A conducted a rebound hammer test to assess the
compressive strength of structural members, including beams, columns, and slabs, in the
designated evacuation center in Barangay Puyog, Boac. This is part of the data gathering
procedure of their study with a working title “Non-Destructive Evaluation of Structural
Health of Evacuation Centers on the Central Marinduque Fault Line's Vicinity at the
Municipality of Boac Using Rebound Hammer”. Prior to testing, the researchers obtained a
letter of request, signed and approved by the college dean.
Background:
Barangay Puyog is located in the central part of Marinduque, an island province
within the MIMAROPA region of the Philippines. It falls under the jurisdiction of the
municipality of Boac, which also serves as the provincial capital. Over the years, local
government initiatives and national development programs have likely contributed to
significant improvements in infrastructure. These enhancements encompass areas such as
roads, schools, health centers, and other essential facilities, with particular attention to the
development of an evacuation center for the community.

Conclusion:
The researchers have completed the rebound hammer testing of the evacuation
center in Puyog, Boac. The structural testing covered both the ground floor and the second
floor of the building’s structural members including the beams, columns, and slabs.
