PROJECT PROPOSAL

DIRECTION: Suppose you are the SK Chairman in your barangay and you have noticed that there is a
problem in waste segregation in your place, what should you do?
Complete the given outline to come up with a project proposal to address the problem. (Refer to the sample
project proposal in your module on page 17.)

I. Project Title:

“Operation B.K.T.K”

II. Project Proponents:

The SK Officials are in charge of this project. Along with the support of Barangay Officials.

III. Project Rationale:

In accordance with The Republic Act (RA) 9003, otherwise known as the Ecological Solid Waste
Management Act of 2000, provides the necessary policy framework, institutional mechanisms and mandate
to the local government unites (LGUs) to achieve 25% waste reduction through establishing an integrated
solid waste management plans based on 3Rs (reduce, reuse and recycling). This project is required to be
implemented because most of the residents in our barangay does not know how to properly segregate their
waste materials. They do not have their own compost pits, there are trashes scattered everywhere. The canals
are very dirty and clogged.

IV. Project Objective:

• Making our barangay the cleanest in town.

• Keeping our surroundings clean and green.
• Preventing the outbreaks of diseases.
• Providing the residents a healthy place to live in.

V. Project Description:

This project will be attained and carried through the help of Barangay Officials, SK Officials and the
Community. The “B.K.T.K.” stands “Basura Ko, Tapon Ko” will be executed with the purpose of making our
barangay the cleanest among other community, also aims preventing the outbreaks of diseases such as
Dengue Fever, Leptos Pyrosis and Diarrhea. We would also want to orient everyone on how to properly
segregate waste materials through Material Recovery Facility, and teach them in making their own compost
pits. And the benefits of having them. This project promotes Eco- Friendly Activities.
VI. Project Duration:

• The said Project will be implemented starting on Monday, May 30, 2022.
• The barangay public dump truck would collect wastes from the MRF’s every Monday And Friday at
7:30 am.
 • The Project will operate continuously until the next term of SK Election, and hopefully continued by
the next SK Officials.

VII. Target Beneficiaries:

The target beneficiaries of this project are the people residing in our barangay, most especially the
children and elders. While everyone in the world would benefit from the clean and green environment and for
caring our mother Earth.

VIII. Propose Budget:

The only expenses are for the building of MRF’s, Feeding of Voluntary Cleaners of the Dirty
Canals twice a week. Also the gas money of the public dump truck to be used. The estimated cost is
around 2,500 pesos in a regular working month.

IX. Monitoring and Evaluation:

We the SK Officials will monitor the process of this project and we will ensure to improve it
according on the situation. We guarantee a big change in our environment.
The Project will be fully managed by the SK Officials and everyone from the community are
encouraged to participate in order for it to be more effective. For having a clean and green environment is the
best!!.
