EAT N’ CHILL
(Halo-halo Ice cream Cake)

I. ISSUE:
Summer is approaching and surely, high degrees of temperature will be felt once
again all over the country. Because of this, foods that are in demand during this season
tend to be sold at higher prices than usual. The increase in temperature causes unbearable
heat waves, price hike to supplies and problems to people. Even though it was the most
enjoyable season in the year, it is sometimes harsh to the extent that people would not be
able to go out during the day because it was always hot. Year on year lot of people get
affected by heat stroke, dehydration and various heat related diseases. These are the main
reasons why people tend to look for cold food, beverage and especially cold dessert
during summer to fight the strong heat.

II. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

GENERAL PROBLEM:

Due to hot season, people are looking for some products especially cold food that
they can buy. But because of the increasing price of other products that they want which
they cannot afford, they just chose products offered at a lower price to satisfy their
cravings and to fight the strong heat.

SPECIFIC PROBLEM:

Because some products were sold at higher price during hot season, many people
cannot afford to buy the food they desired to eat. It limits them to eat what they want that
should satisfy and ease their feeling during hot season.
III. NEED STATEMENT:
 WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?

This happens because of the hot weather which also causes price hike in
certain products.

 HOW BIG IT IS?

Since the product is in demand during summer, it can possibly affect a

wide range of people in a community.

 WHO IS FACING THE PROBLEMS?

People or consumers that cannot afford to buy expensive products.

IV. IDEATION:
First we conducted a survey to analyze the business opportunities in the market.
We found out that customers are looking for something cold because it is summer season.
The first thing that comes in our mind is Ice Cream, but we do not want to sell just a
simple ice-cream. We want to make an innovation and make our product more interesting
that is why we decided to combine or add some cake to it. After that, we realize that halo-
halo is the Filipino’s favorite cold dessert and this is a very popular product when
summer season. That’s how we come up with our product which we called “Eat N’ Chill:
Halo-halo Ice Cream Cake”. Eat N’ Chill’s Halo-halo Ice Cream Cake will be sold at a
very affordable price. Since we are in the midst of pandemic and safety protocols should
be followed, we will collect orders online then deliver it to our customers’ door to door.

 WANTS & NEEDS:
1. New but good tasting product in the community.
2. Products sold at a reasonable and affordable price.
3. Product that can refresh our body.
 DEEP NEED STATEMENT:
“It is very essential to have products that you can buy at a low price kasi
hindi naman lahat ng tao ay pare-pareho ng financial status sa buhay. Sana
ngayong summer season mayroong bagong produkto na kayang bilhin ng lahat ng
tao. Yun bang mura na, masarap pa, at mabubusog ka pa.”
 FRUSTATION:
