‘HIDE & SEEK’ - BEN GREGORY

Due to the nature of my actor situation I have decided to create a script in which I must play every character.
Below is my script with just enough changes for everything to still make sense and hold that story. These
differences are displayed in green.

INT - BEDROOM - DAY

~RED SEX BY VESSEL BEGINS~
Main wakes up suddenly and gets out of bed.
He puts on his shirt in the back-lit window before walking to the bathroom.
In the mirror he is brushing his teeth, he then spits in the sink and leaves the room.

INT - HALLWAY
Main comes down the stairs and walks into the kitchen and grabs his work bag before putting on his
shoes and exiting through his front door.

EXT - DRIVEWAY
Main walks down his drive and gets in this car.

EXT - MAIN ROAD

Main drives past

EXT - HIGH STREET

Main stands by the bus shelter holding out flyers to passers by but no one wants to take one.
He looks disappointed.
Behind him is Blind Man (BM), currently unknown to Main.
Main sits down at the bus shelter next to BM.
He lights a cigarette and takes a big puff.
He looks with his eyes towards BM but it’s just a normal guy sitting there who looks up from their
phone at Main.
Main quickly looks away and rubs his eyes, looking stressed.
He drops his cigarette and puts it out before walking away.

EXT - DRIVEWAY - NIGHT

~MUSIC FADES OUT~
Main walks back from his car towards the house, the camera follows behind his head.

INT - HALLWAY TO KITCHEN

Through the house, Main diverts into the living room before coming back into frame in the hallway.
He stops to put his shoes away.
The camera moves in front of Main revealing an open back door to the audience.
Main switches on the light switch- cut to BM stood at the other end of the kitchen partnered with a
sting

Main: “Hello?”

BM runs towards Main, who runs out the kitchen back to the hallway, BM takes off his jacket and
shoes whilst laughing.
Cut to Main going for the front door but can’t get out as the door has been jammed.

Main (under breath): “Shit”

He turns but BM is standing in the doorway and begins to move towards Main who slowly backs into
the corner but BM walks past him to the door, reaching out.
After finding out Main isn’t there he snarls.

Main looks confused but stays quiet as BM walks into the living room.
Main goes for the stairs but they creek giving him no choice but to run up the stairs.

INT - BEDROOM
As he can hide in plain sight he goes into his bedroom and hides in the corner.
He pulls out his phone but it’s dead.
In the background BM has made it to the top of the stairs, Main turns looking fearful, he covers his
mouth and turns back.
As he slowly builds up the courage to look back he sees BM standing next to him.
He stays quiet and BM turns to leave, walking across the hall into the opposing room.
Main creeps out and goes back for the stairs, they creek again and he runs down stairs just for BM to
follow.

INT - HALLWAY
Main runs down the stairs and down the hall towards the kitchen the camera swivels to follow before
turning back to show BM running down the stairs and stopping at the bottom.
In the background, the under-stairs cupboard is ajar.
Cut to a close-up of half of BM’s face as he tries to listen for Main.
He steps towards the kitchen but kicks an under-stairs drawer which opens, making him feel for other
storage places under the stairs.
His hand opens drawers but just as he gets close to the open door there is a knock on the front door.
BM turns his head looking towards the front door.

Friend: “Hello? Are you in there bruv, I’ve been calling you. Hellooo… you’re home alone, I
bring the drinks, time to partayyyy… Bruv. I’m coming in.”

During, Main’s lit eyes through the gap in the door become more and more worried.
Friend opens the front door stepping into the porch.
He tries the porch door but it won’t open.
Main’s face relaxes until the porch lock is undone and the door opens.
Shot of BM back lit in the hallway as the door opens.

Friend: “Bro you left your key in the do-”

BM throws himself at Friend

Main: “No!”

Friend’s body hits the floor.

BM stands over him breathing heavily before hearing a noise past the kitchen.
He turns and runs towards the kitchen before hitting the door and feeling he was hidden there, angry
that he had been distracted by Friend.

EXT - SIDE ALLEY INTO DRIVEWAY

Main struggles with the bolts on the side gate in a panic but manages to get it open, sprinting from the
driveway into the road.

EXT - DRIVEWAY
BM is standing in the front doorway looking out using the sounds of Main’s footsteps to follow him
with his head.

EXT - MAIN ROAD

Main turns and as he sees BM he runs harder down the road, turning onto another, tracked by the
camera.
Cut to behind Main as he is suddenly hit from the side into the bonnet of a parked car, rolling over it
and hitting the floor.
As Main tries to get up he is approached and grabbed by Aid and strung up by his hair.

Aid: “Stay still”

Main heavy breathing with a dirty face and bloody nose looks up to see a strange man holding him.
He is too weak and tired to fight back.
Aid whistles and shortly after a slow pan in on Main’s struggling face, BM walks from around the
corner, he pulls out a knife and stands over Main.
He kneels in front of him, feeling his face with his hand.
Main is visibly uncomfortable.

BM: “I am so young and so naive. You know you can’t outrun your problems forever. Soon
they will eat you up.”

BM wiggles his fingers at Main and begins to laugh before shushing himself

Main (struggling): “What are you on about?!”

Aid (tugging on Main’s shirt): “Shut up!”

BM (through stifled laughter): “They say it’s ‘me, myself and I’ in this world kid but that’s
not the case. No no no nooo, you can’t trust anyone- not even yourself.

BM then shoves the knife into the neck of Main as blood pours from his mouth he looks BM in the
face as he removes his disguise revealing Main’s face with dead eyes.
Main is shocked and looks with his eyes up to Aid who also takes off his disguise revealing Main’s
face to be underneath.

Main’s body drops to the floor then BM and Aid laugh maniacally

BM: “Justice is blind”

They both laugh harder.

Cut to black. Credits roll.
